Three people have been arrested and about 170 kilos of marijuana prepared for distribution have been intervened in an operation of the National Police Corps that, with the support of the Maçanet de la Selva city council, dismantled a criminal group dedicated to producing and selling the drug from that town of Girona, in Catalonia. The last major operation against marijuana trafficking in that area took place in Barcelona in mid-December.
Citizen collaboration turned out to be fundamental to find the place where the criminal business was developing, in a house. At the time of the search, the agents located there about 700 plants in full development. Of the three individuals arrested in connection with what happened, one has been admitted to a penitentiary on a preventive basis.
